Front Split


Like the Pancake Stretch, the Front Split represents great hip mobility and demonstrates a balanced hip joint, that is able to move through its full range of motion. Front Split directly targets the hamstrings and hip flexors and working on this position will benefit you in all your training, particularly when it comes to Handstand, Gymnastic Bridge and Pancake Stretch. Not only will it help you to enter into these positions with ease it will also directly contribute to an improved handstand line due to the focus on hip extension – something that many of us lack (See Lower Cross Syndrome in our article Joining The Dots).
